The Numbers of Cattedrale dell’Immagine
Immersive Art Experience
In the heart of Florence, the deconsecrated Santo Stefano al Ponte church is one of the unknown masterpieces of the Florentine architectural heritage. After staying closed for years, the intervention of Crossmedia Group in 2015 brought new life to the building under the new name of Cattedrale dell’Immagine, turning it into the first Italian hub for Immersive Art Experiences, a space where art, culture and tradition come to life.
The interiors have been digitally mapped, creating the first Immersive Art space in Italy, featuring proper Immersive Exhibitions dedicated to the great world art masters.
Currently showing at the Cattedrale dell’Immagine
From Semptember 16th the Cattedrale dell’Immagine has been hosting the Immersive Exhibition Inside Dalí
The spectator goes through a multisensorial experience between imagination and reality, where the great master’s fantasies and dreams come to life in front of their eyes.
Adding to the already rich nature of the event, the immersive space is introduced by a vast museum area, where the spectators can face Dalí’s manifold ingenuity, getting in touch with some of his lesser-known productions. The vinyls he produced, his books, an advertisement campaign for the French railways company, some of his most famous photographic portraits, joining the series of 100 illustrations that the Catalan painter created for a special edition of the Divine Comedy on the occasion of the 700° anniversary of Dante Alighieri’s birth.
